A New Tradition

Catholic Cemeteries Archdiocese of Toronto is pleased to offer to our families the option of securing all their cremation needs at one location. The Cremation Centre for Catholic Cemeteries which opened in July 2002 houses a crematorium, a committal chapel and reception halls to accommodate the needs of our families. 

Cremation Choices

Our Faith teaches that cremated remains, like the body, must be treated with the greatest of respect.

There are two burial options for those choosing cremation:

1. Entombment of the cremated remains in a mausoleum or columbarium niche.
2. Burial of the cremated remains in cremation graves or family lots.

Features of the Assumption RECEPtion Centre

The Chapel
Available to those families who would like a prayer service preceding the cremation. A peaceful place for prayer and meditation.

The Reception Hall

• Ideal for greeting relatives and friends after the funeral service.
• Two rooms are available with seating for up to 60 people per room.
• Catered Food and Beverage services can be ordered through the office.
