Christ the King Cemetery is located just east of the intersection of Steeles Avenue East and Reesor Road in the town of Markham.  This beautiful new cemetery offers a wide selection of burial choices including ground burial in monument lots, flat marker and cremation graves as well as cremation entombment.  This cemetery provides burial services to the Catholic families of Markham, Scarborough and Pickering as it is conveniently located in the borders of all three communities.

The lands for Christ the King Cemetery were purchased by Catholic Cemeteries - Archdiocese of Toronto in 2001 from the Province of Ontario.  The 170 acre property was site plan approved for cemetery development by the Town of Markham in 2002.

On September 25, 2004, Christ the King Cemetery was consecrated for Church burial by His Eminence Aloysius Cardinal Ambrozic. The cemetery property will be developed in three stages with Phase I consisting of 60 acres, a new office/reception centre, an equipment service building and 12 burial sections with monument lots and flat marker graves. There is also a cremation section with a columbarium and cremation graves.

Long term plans are to construct a mausoleum and to consider the possibility of a crematorium and a funeral home full service centre. Phase II and Phase III will be developed over time as cemetery burial capacity dictates.

Christ the King Cemetery offers a selection of ground interment options.  There are single, double and triple grave lots which can accommodate upright monuments.

Flat Bronze Marker Graves
Another ground interment choice is a grave with a bronze marker (memorial) set flush to the ground with a granite base.  These flat bronze marker graves are located in Shrine Sections featuring beautiful religious statues amongst carefully maintained flower gardens.

Memorials and Vaults
Christ the King Cemetery offers an extensive selection of memorials and interment products.  Memorials such as granite monuments can be purchased in various colours, styles and sizes.  Bronze markers give you the choice of personalizing the marker with a wide range of designs.  A selection of urns and vaults is also available for purchase.                    

Reception Centre
To meet the needs of our families, Christ the King Cemetery offers the convenience of reception facilities in our main building.  The reception centre is available with catering for family gatherings following burial services.
