Effective immediately, Catholic Cemeteries – Archdiocese of Toronto will be operating under the new name Catholic Cemeteries & Funeral Services – Archdiocese of Toronto. This name change has been made to reflect the news that we will now be expanding our bereavement ministry to the faithful of the Archdiocese of Toronto to include funeral services.
“I am very pleased to announce that Catholic Cemeteries is currently constructing its first funeral home at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Thornhill. This unique facility, scheduled to be operational by September 2014, will be providing a cemetery/funeral home “Combination” with a full range of bereavement products and services at one location in a truly Catholic setting,” said Executive Director, Richard Hayes.
With the introduction of the funeral home, we will now be a full service provider for funeral, burial and cremation needs. We are dedicated to providing Catholic families with compassionate care consistent with the values of our faith. In addition to full visitation services, Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home will also have a chapel which will permit funeral masses. The funeral home and chapel will be blessed by His Eminence Thomas Cardinal Collins in September of this year.
Catholic Cemeteries & Funeral Services will continue to operate under the auspices of the Archdiocese of Toronto.
